Semi Permanent Brows: In Stages

No one likes the unknown, so I’ve put together a little guide of what to expect throughout your treatment, from consultation to the healing process.

Before Your Treatment

  1. A few days before your appointment, please exfoliate your eyebrows to enable the pigment to stay in.

  2. Look in the mirror and study your face. Take a photo and zoom in! Your face is not symmetrical, your brows are not even and you will usually have one higher than the other.

  3. It is advised not to tan your face three weeks before and three weeks after your treatment. Sun will make your eyebrows fade

  4. Do not pluck or wax your eyebrows 2-3 days before the treatment at least.

See my Pre Treatment Appointment Advice for more details.

On The Day

  1. First we go over the initial consultation and discuss your brows and what you are wanting to achieve. We also discuss colours, fill in consent forms and prepare your brows with numbing cream.

  2. I then draw on the outline of your brows, measuring and working with your natural brow to develop a shape and thickness that you want to achieve.

  3. When you are happy with the shape, AND ONLY THEN, will I start to implant the pigment. Your brows are numbed throughout and we stop to see how the shape is developing.

  4. When the pigmentation process is completed, your brows may look red and swollen, but this only lasts a few hours depending on your skin type.

Aftercare

It is vital that you follow your aftercare carefully and think about what you are doing after your appointment and the week following.

The essentials are:

  1. DO NOT TOUCH YOUR BROWS

  2. DO NOT GET THEM WET

  3. DO NOT SCRATCH, PICK OR PULL THEM

Other aftercare tips:

  • Only use the aftercare cream provided, and only as advised

  • You will experience some swelling, this is normal. If you are concerned, please contact me for advice

  • Clean around your new brows and make sure that no creams, make-up or cleansers touch your new brows for at least 7 days.

If you look after to them, you will get better results and they will last longer.

Touch Up Appointments

  • I touch up your eyebrows at least four weeks after your first treatment. It’s called the perfecting stage where we can fill in any gaps, go slightly darker or fuller.

  • The process is exactly the same as your first appointment, as is the aftercare. Again, plan ahead when making the appointment.

  • Regular 12-18 month appointments will keep your colour looking fresh.

  • Different skin types and lifetsyles will effect how regulary you require a touch up.
